West Chester Communities That Care (CTC) improves outcomes for youth by addressing youth mental health, violence, and underage substance misuse.  Through youth-led THRIVE clubs, a Parent Speaker Series and community messaging campaigns which are based on 20 plus years of longitudinal data, your West Chester CTC coalition brings together all sectors of our community to create a culture where YOUTH THRIVE, supported by their parents, their peers and their community to live substance free, violence free and emotionally healthy lives.

 

Programs in Chester County (West Chester Area Specific)

  • Parent Resources:

    • Parent Trek – Meetings and meet ups connecting parents with each other and area professionals to learn and reinforce effective strategies for raising resilient youth.

    • Mindfulness Practice – Virtual mindfulness guidance for better personal and family health.

    • Talk Now, Know How – Join local prevention professional, Loretta Cohen, MSW, as she shares concepts that build strong family relationships and set kids up for success. Driven by science and a healthy dose of humor, this 45-minute presentation will be well worth your time.

  • Youth Resources:

    • THRIVE— Born out of a desire to see youth guide local efforts to improve our community, THRIVE was established in partnership with West Chester Communities that Care (WCCTC).  WCCTC uses the most recent local PA Youth Survey data to assess areas most likely to put teen success at risk.
