Drug overdose is a major health and safety concern
In 2020, more than 91,000 people died due to drug overdose, a historic rise of 30% compared with the year before.
In Pennsylvania, overdose deaths rose by 16.4 percent in 2020, and continued rising to 5,438 reported overdose deaths in 2021, which was another 6 percent increase from the prior year.
In 2022, Chester County reported 103 accidental drug overdoses.
